LESS POWER OUTPUT
Another common dynamic
muscular performance variable is muscular power. Peak
musculoskeletal power output for various movements
can be measured by combining dynamometer (FORCE) and kine-
matic measurements (DISTANCE°TIME) and has been used to establish a
range of training loads that maximize power output
(10,14). These studies of muscular strength and power
measurements are consistent with the fitness research
showing three major expressions (static, dynamic, and
explosive) of muscular performance (35).
