Tag question

Question tags are a feature of English grammar used to confirm or check information and generally follow a particular structure based on the main sentence. If the main sentence is positive, the question tag is negative, and vice versa.

If the sentence contains no auxiliary verb and it is fixed then we do not or doesn’t for the past tense

- Your parents live here, don't they? --> Yes, they do. - She joined the team today, didn't she? --> Yes, she did
We use Question Tags when we are not sure of something.

- judo is only for boys, isn't it? - Spaghetti is not served in this restaurant, is it?

We use Question Tags when we want to be sure of something

- You don’t like fish, do you? - Our new neighbor speaks English, doesn't he?

The question tag is positive if the sentence is negative as :shown in the examples below

- They were not playing chess, were they? --> No, they were not. - Ali is not a good man, is he? --> No, He is not. - He doesn't have his research, does he? --> No, He does not.

In the event that one of the following verbs is present in the sentence that works in the sentence that works if the answer continues

am, is, are, was, were, shall, should, will, would, can, could, must, ought , need, dare
