One critical period involved overcoming a seven-year struggle with addiction, which led to significant life disruptions, including job loss and declining health.

Third and Final Main Event: Going Back to School

- Made the decision to go back to school when I turned twenty seven years old. - Decided that I wanted to work in the healthcare system as a nurse. - Had started to feel lack of purpose in my current customer service job. - This decision came to me after reading many news articles about nurses who were making the decision to leave the healthcare field due to high burn out rates caused by the pandemic. - Inspiration came from wanting to help people who were truly sick, and suffering. - Started the first step of this journey by registering for adult learning to upgrade my high school courses. - This experience has taught me patience and has given me confidence within myself. - By pushing myself out of my comfort zone, I have proven that I am capable of succeeding.

Second Main Event: Overcoming Addiction

- Was afflicted by this disease for over a seven year period. - Experienced loss of job, and my health declined. - Life at this time consisted of mainly blackouts and emergency room visits. - Made a decision to get sober, but struggled in the beginning to stay sober. - Experienced many relapses before I remained sober. - Joined an Alcoholics Anonymous program and started using "The Big Book" as a guide to living a more meaningful life. - Started confronting my fears and insecurities in order to move forward in my life. - Started working through my issues in order to come to a place of self-acceptance. - This experience helped me in becoming a stronger, and more resilient person.

Three defining events that have made a significant impact in my life.

Concluding how these main events have molded and shaped my character, to reflect who I am today. Being open to change will help create more opportunities in the future.

First Main Event: Moving Out

- Moved out at eighteen years old. - Started experiencing bouts of anxiety that stemmed from worrying about the future. - Was working two jobs to pay rent and other bills. - Didn't have much time to socialize so I started to read self help books to combat the anxiety. - Most relevant and inspirational book I read at the time, entitled "The Power of Now". - This book helped me to stay in the present and to stop worrying about the future. - Gained many new and important life skills. - Skills gained included cooking and cleaning, stress management, proper self-care, saving and budgeting money, and developing good time management.
