How does water affect Earth’s surface processes?

Everyone needs soil, without soil we lose a lot of crops/ plants/ food, and it wouldnt be healthy to our enviroment

Soil flters the water, provides nutrients to our forests and crops

Water moving across the earth in streams and rivers pushes along soil and breaks down pieces of rock

How did life and Earth systems coevolve?

We talked about how Goldilocks is related to the book by being the same or close

Refers to the Earth seemingly at the perfect distance from the Sun, in order to sustain oceans of liquid water for life

Goldilocks was just right in the story, so its comparing to the perfect distance from the sun.

We learned about the spheres in class and how they helped our enviroment

Atmosphere - Greenhouse gases.

Geosphere - Land is vulnerable to erosion and flooding.

Hydrosphere - liquid freshwater is 3% of Earth’s water.

With population and demand increasing, it is putting a stress on the four spheres.

What is the impact of developing and using energy resources on Earth’s living and non-living systems?

Mining can be difficult, there are pros and cons in everything you do and it might be worth it in the end.

Cons- Water pollution, Cause landslides, Acid rock drainage, Harmful to human health, Heavy metal contamination

Pros- Job creation, Environmental stewardship, Provides essential resources, Enormous earning

Mining can be a difficult task and may be dangerous but its good in the long run.

What issues does waste from humans cause?

There is palstic waste in the ocean, and destroying our planet. Sizes of Texas are covered in the ocean by garbage

Humans create waste issues by not picking up thier trash, throwing garbage out the window, not reclycing.

Humans need to be more careful, and watch for garbage.

Why is carbon important?

Carbon and the gases are important to our atmosphere leading to fossil fuels for the stores of carbon

While processes that absorb it are called carbon “sinks.” Forests, soil, oceans, the atmosphere, and fossil fuels are important stores of carbon.

Carbon takes in the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, CO2, Burning fossil fuels releases massive amounts of carbon into the atmosphere and to the Earth.

carbon is one of the essential building blocks of organic life.
