La ecología cultural es una corriente que estudia las relaciones entre un grupo humano y su medio ambiente, centrándose en la interacción de los modos de vida de esa cultura y los ecosistemas que le dan soporte. La ecología cultural implica el estudio de la conducta de las personas, siendo este su aspecto antropológico y de ciencia social, y además entiende cómo las características del medio influyen en el comportamiento humano, siendo esta la parte como ciencia biológica.
