GRE and GMAT exams

The GRE and GMAT exams are standardized tests used for postgraduate admissions. The GRE includes three main sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing.

Verbal Reasoning

There are three types of questions:

Sentence Correction

Critical Reasoning

Reading Comprehension

Measures the ability to:

Express ideas effectively in written English.

Reason and evaluate arguments.

Read and understand written material.

Quantitative Reasoning

Measures mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and interpretation of graphic data.

The questions involve arithmetic, elementary algebra, and commonly known concepts of geometry.

There are two types of questions:

Data Sufficiency

Problem Solving

Integrated Reasoning

Measures how well students integrate data to solve complex problems.

There are four types of questions:

Two-Part Analysis

Graphics Interpretation

Table Analysis

Multi-Source Reasoning

Analytical Writing Assessment

Test takers critique an argument and analyze the soundness of the author's evidence.

Focuses on the identification and analysis of the parts of the argument and the use of clear transitions.

Consists of four scored test sections

3.- Quantitative
2.- Integrated Reasoning
1.- Analytical Writing Assessment (essay section)
Stands for Graduate Management Admission Test.
It is primarily a test of critical thinking skills.

Assesses candidates' command of basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, multi-source data analysis, and grammar.

GRE Exam

GRE Scoring
Each section of the GRE is scored separately.

The writing section is on a scale of 0 to 6 points.

The verbal and quantitative scores are on a scale of 130 to 170 points.
