These devices all have great impacts on our environment. Their disposal, production and usage all have an influence on our Earth. They can cause pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and loss of biodiversity.

Usage of Energy from Communication Technology Devices

When chargers are plugged without the device charging, it wastes energy. Energy is fueled by burned fossil fuels. The burning of fossil fuels results in pollution and acid rain. Not only does this influences ecosystems, but also our health.

Disposal of Communication Technology Devices

Devices ranging from phones to computer routers are disposed in unethical ways. The devices are dumped in landfills or in the ocean. Sometimes these devices are even burned. This impacts the biodiversity in those areas and causes pollution.

Communication technologic devices allow us to communicate with one another. Whether it be a message being send, or an advertisement, these devices are essential. Because of high demand of constant new devices, it results in pollution from trucks and planes hauling products throughout the country and world. Because of this, there is also an increase of getting rid of old products.
