The Islamic Golden Age was a period marked by significant intellectual, economic, and social advancements. The House of Wisdom served as a hub for scholars who translated and preserved ancient works from Persia, Greece, and Rome into Arabic.
During the Golden Age of Islam, Muslims allowed other religions such as Jews and Christians to keep their religions and they were called People of the Book. The most high social ranking during the golden age was the Muslim Arab, they paid the least amount in taxes and had the most privileges. The next highest was the Muslim Non-Arabs or Mawali, they paid more taxes than Muslim Arabs. The third social rank was the People of the Book, also known as the the Dhimmis. This was just a Muslim reference to Jews or Christians because they base what they believe in on the Bible. They had a higher ranking than slaves, but they didn't have the same rights as Muslims. The lowest social ranking in the Golden Age of Islam was the slaves. Also during the Golden age, there was beautiful art and architecture. Their art often had floral work or vines. There was art on textiles, pottery, buildings, and paper manuscripts. Their architecture was equally as beautiful. The buildings would be very simple on the outside, but on the inside it would be covered in designs. They would often use intricate archways and geometric designs.
The politics during the Golden Age was the Islamic Law. The Islamic Law is how Islams people keep order. It deals with crime, politics, economics, and even more personal things such as hygeine, diets, prayer, and fasting. - Islam developed a system of law based on the Qur'an. The Islams learned the paper-making process of the chinese
This was a great economic advance for the Islams because it was much easier to make than papyrus or other types of things to write on.It allowed shops to start selling paper and books, and many religious teachings to be put on paper. What also arose was a credit system that is similar to modern time checks.
