The government is helping by protecting the wetlands.

They are at risk because of the destruction of wetlands.

King rails are also hunted by cats and are hit by cars often.

Wetlands are affected by drainges, pollution, and shoreline development.

King rail can live up to 5-9 years

They live in large wetlands that border Lake St. Clair. Some king rails live along marshes around Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
