I did a similar activity last year where the students created their own cartoons on a poster board and presented it to the class. This is a great way to incorporate technology and use a web tool for that assignment when I do it again in my class.
SchoolTube http://www.schooltube.com Just like YouTube, SchoolTube offers a platform where students and teachers can safely share their videos on the web for free. Schools, teachers, and students can view videos from other classrooms where they can teach a lesson, learn from a lesson, and get fun, creative ideas from their peers around the country. We sing songs, do skits, and sometimes dance to songs. I would like to post videos of my students engaging in the Japanese culture through authentic music.

The student's writing is published on a global network, which motivates students to write well and engage with other students on the web. This would be a great way to use in the classroom for students to keep an online journal daily/weekly and practice writing in the Japanese language. It will be a great way for students to see their peers' writing, comment and leave feedback on each other's writing.
