What I Want to Learn

The Great Deppresion

Start learning about both World Wars along with soldiers

Move away from learning about the First Nations and Aboriginals

What I already know about Canada's History

Residential schools where built to try to change people into Christian people

The British won the Atlantic provences whereas the French won Quebec

A war broke out between the French and the British

During 1755, The Great Expulsion took place where Acadiens where kicked out of their homes

French settles started the "Fur Trade"

Aboriginals were here first

The Aboriginals were the first to come to Canada

The British were a big part of Canada's past because they started a war

French colonists were a big part of Canada's past because they took over Canada's land

Canadian Historical Figures

John.A.Macdonald was the first prime minister of Canada

Henry Hudson founded Hudson Bay

John Cabot was an Italian explorer who claimed Canada was England

Terry Fox ran for cancer along with a prosthetic leg

Jacques Cartier was a European explorer who claimed Canada was France

Samuel de Champlain founded Quebec City

What being Canadian is like

In my opinion, being Canadian is apart of my personality now. It is beautiful hearing that a Canadian stereotype is being "polite", which is a good thing! Also, having a great history behind you is marvelous. Knowing that Canada is an amazing county along with a good education system makes me really proud to be Canadian. Canada is surrounded with incredible people, some of which are known world-wide.
