HOW urban

Urbanization has significantly reshaped the way towns and cities interact with nature, a stark contrast to pre-modern times when civilization and nature coexisted more harmoniously.

HOW urban

How urbanization has effected the biodiversity

Making it so that we as humans aren't going out of our way to harm nature in anyway.

towns are being built with nature in mind.

Althought there are many deciding factors in Habitat loss at its rate urbanization is one of the biggest factors due to the number of species it endangers or threatens.

We as humans destroy important or often crucial ecological locations are lost in whole. Global urbanization is the leading cause of species endangerment. And habitat loss.

Biodiversity takes the hit especially hard because thats how the world works the should be a balance between man and nature.

with the rise of urbanization comes the need for space. Sometimes the need for space comes at the cost.

Why is this happening?

Whats being done to help.

with the current bee crisis (something that urbanization played a part in) we have realized we cant change the past but our actions for the future can also be of benefit

Effects

local species are going extinct take for example The UK, urbanization is the reason for the extinction of 35% of scarce plants.
With the growth of towns and cities also come with the decline in local wildlife.
studies show with the growth of urbanization comes the risk of certain areas having to loose plant or animal life that may have benefited the location.

In the USA alone urbanization has lead to the endangerment of nearly 300 species.

Governments and contractors see that new block or that new street as a financial thing so if it comes to a choice between that new street that will pump money into the local economy or that small meadow its likely the meadow will take a hit.

whether this means it means the vital habitats are lost or are fragmented in ways that it cant support the ecological communities.

Urbanization is a relatively new concept.

for the first time in human history a majority of the earth population inhabit cities. Which means with the demands comes the problems.

In modern times the difference of how our towns and cities are built in association with nature is quite apparent.

but this wasn't always the case. per-modern times, the relationship between nature and civilization was showcased
