Italy

Citizens have a right to vote

Affirmative Action plans are on the weak side and need improvement

Proper legal protection is not given to same sex couples and they are not formally recognized.

Minors have human rights free from discrimination and those rights are properly protected

Although abortion is legal, the church and other influences make it hard for a woman to get one.

Prohibts discrimination against people with disabiltites

There are still large gaps between men and woman in the workforce.

Capital Punishment still legal. Abolishig the death penalty has been said to be one of the top proirorities.

Canada

Abortion is legal

Affirmative Actions plans still need work but have a good foundation.

The official languages are English and French and both have equal rights

Death Penalty Abolished

Equality in the workforce remains an issue and equal pay has not yet been reached.

Everyone has the right to be free from torture

Right to remain, leave or enter both countries
