Landing Projects

Design the Future

Students can design a comprehensive "possible future" by focusing on just one facet, such as "Economy", "Government", or "Food" -- or they can design a comprehensive "possible future" by addressing many or all facets.

A student's "possible future" project could take any form: a mind map, Milanote page, Google Slides presentation, narrative story, dialogue that's acted out, video, etc.

History Timeline

Just like Elle created a timeline of history, Vinayak or other students can create a running timeline on which to place what they've studied, such as past cultures, forms of government, technological innovations, etc.

This project would most often be completed as preparation for the culminating "Design the Future" project.

Launch Activities

Time Detectives - Visual Timeline Game
Photo Bank
Historian's Notebook

This is a great springboard for introducing students to the idea of "thinking like a historian"-- noticing things in the world that might relate to their social studies research.
