Questions I still have after reading this article?

Do some children need more motivation than others?

Why do not all teachers try to motivate more?

How do you think you should motivate children?

What can you take away from the article to make your future math classroom successful?

When grading I will tell them I want to see the work because even if the answer is wrong if all the work is right that counts as points.

I want to make sure i tell the kids in my class that the grade does not matter as much as the process it took you to get to the answer.

I need to make sure I treat my male and female students the same in each subject.

Just what are motivations?

3-4 sentences summary in my own words.

Some students are motivated by grades other by curiosity. When a boy fails the teachers tend to say they did not put enough effort in to it. Where when girls loose they tend to just say that it was to hard for them. Students tend find more bad experiences with math than with other subjects. Teachers need to find ways to motivate them without putting the student down and not babying them through it all.

What are the ideas/hypotheses the artyicle will explore?

How helpless students who have not motivation will not seek help.
