Theories of ageing

Two primary theories explain how elderly individuals interact with society: Activity Theory and Disengagement Theory. Activity Theory posits that elderly people who engage in activities such as playing bingo, gardening, or joining book clubs maintain a positive self-concept and achieve greater life satisfaction.
