Several key figures played significant roles during the American Civil War, each contributing in various capacities to the Confederacy. Francis Lubbock, after taking over as Governor of Texas, became an assistant to Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederacy.

Thomas Green

He served under Sam Houston,so he was not fully allied with the idea of secession.
Converted steam boats to gun boats with his troops at the Battle Of Galveston.
Controlled men at Battle Of Galveston on boats and defeated the Union ships.

John Magruder

He participated in the important Battle Of Galveston.
Reclaimed Galveston from union troops.
Was a commander for troops in the confederacy.

Francis Lubbock

Lubbock is named after Francis and his brother.
He was an assistant to the president of the confederacy,Jefferson Davis.
He took over the position as Governor of Texas after Houston was fired.

John Reagan

He saved money for the confederates by cutting of short or unused routes and focusing on the main ones.
The post office continued to work even during the war.
Served in the confederate presidents cabinet as Postmaster General.This was the only form of communication other than mouth.

John Bell Hood

Most know for participating in the Battle Of Seven Days.
He fought at a very important battle known as The Battle Of Gettysburg.
Commanded Hood's Texas Brigade for the Confederation.
