12th Grade US Government: In groups, we had to come up with a form of government for our school that was stranded on an island.

A high school project centered around designing a form of government for a hypothetical school stranded on an island serves as a vivid example of how memories are stored and recalled.

Declarative Memory

I remember and can recall the facts associated with this memory, but don't subconsciously think about the project I did all those years ago.

Reconstruction or reconsolidation errors

As I am trying to work on this, I am thinking of two different groups I was in and can't remember which group was for this one. I think the other group I was in for a different project, I was frustrated with some of the members because they were hard to work with.
I can't remember what type of Government we used for our school

Other Memory Fragments

I'll sometimes see my high school friends on Facebook and it reminds me of the time I was in school and class with them.

Sensory Connections

I still live next to my High School, so when I see the school, I sometimes think about the project we did in the class.

Cognitive Hooks

When I watch the movie National Treasures, I sometimes think of the class
Mainly because we watched that movie in class one time when some students were on a field trip, thus reminiscing about the project
When I am on the news, I think of that class sometimes
Thinking about that class, reminds me of the specific project I did which is probably all I remember from that class
My Dad is in the Air Force, so that reminds me of the class that I took and how I researched about the types of government.
