Greece's second largest city is definitely its coolest, boasting superior dining and culture. Clubs and cafes give it a college-town feel, while the breathtaking views remind you that you're still in Greece. Aside from the museums and and ruins, there are fabulous beaches.

Zakynthos

Zakynthos is an incredible island to see. It is known for the giant sea turtles. There are tours availible with glass bottom boats. Aside from seeing turtles, it is also famous for the Blue Caves. There are also boats that go inside the caves and at a certain point you are allowed to jump off and swim.

Rio-Antirrio Bridge

Engineers look at the bridge connecting Western Greece and the Peloponnese as a technological marvel. But travelers to Greece will see it as one more reason to rent a car and see Greece up close. Aside from the bridge being extremely conveinient, it is quite an incredible bridge.

Rhodes

Rhodes was an important port through much of history. Be sure to visit Lindos to see the hilltop ruins of the Temple of Athena, providing a gorgeous view of the Aegean. Rhodes was once the home of the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World". However, no trace of the Colossus can be found today.

Santorini (Thira)

Santorini seems to tempt fate, as many of its villages sit on the sides of the steep cliffs, along the edge of the island. These cliffs are the remnant of large volcano that erupted, collapsed and then flooded millennia ago. Several movies have been fiilmed here, and yes it is actually as beautiful as it looks

Corinth

The biggest attraction in Corinth is the Corinth Canal. It is an amazing sight to see. Corinth is also popular for sports. It has its famous soccer team Korinthos F.C.

Meteora

The monasteries of Meteora are one of the most photographed scenes in the world. The monasteries sit on top of huge mountain. Even if you are not a religious person, the scenary and the view from the mountain is unbelieveable.

Chalkidiki

It is a peninsula in northern Greece, and one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Central Macedonia. There are 3 different "legs" of the island. The beaches are incredible and there are endless things to do there.

Lesbos

After you finish making the obvious jokes, you will enjoy this Greek island. It has been minimally affected by mass tourism, and boasts great beaches, amazing food and medieval castles. It's close enough to Turkey to take a day trip or two. And yes, it's where the word "lesbian" came from, thanks to its most famous resident, the late lady-loving poet Sappho.

Ancient Olympia

Ancient Olympia is located in Western Greece. It is known to be the place of the first Olympic games. There is also a recently built museum. Seeing the place where the first Olympics took place is incredible. I'd definitely reccomend stopping there if you're in Greece.

Kerkyra (Corfu)

It is closest of the Greek Islands to Europe, Corfu is regarded by many visitors as one of the most beautiful places in Greece. The island's vegetation is luxurious compared to other of the Greek Isles. Instead of having several rocks and pebbles on the beaches it has beautiful sand. It is a fine destination for those seeking a beach vacation and Corfu Town is known for its night life.

Mykonos

Great nightlife, includes phenomenal beaches, add the jet set, and you have Mykonos. Mykonos is picturesque and is considered by many as the place to be in the Greek Islands. Others consider it limited, offering only sun, sand and nightlife. However, if that is what you are looking for, this might be the place.

Crete

Crete is the largest Greek island. Crete features fantastic beaches and extensive, interesting historic ruins. Be sure to visit the Palace of Knossos, home of King Minos, originally constructed almost four thousand years ago.

Delphi

Delphi is both an archaeological site and a modern town in Greece. In Greek mythology, Delphi was the site of the Delphic oracle, the most important oracle in the classical Greek world. Delphi also attracts tourists visiting the Parnassus Ski Center and the popular coastal towns of the region.

Athens

Athens is the Capital of Greece. Make sure to climb the Acropolis and see the Parthenon. Aside from the historical things, there is a place called "Plaka". Plaka is at the bottom of the Acroplois and contains the best shopping in Athens. It also contains great cafes and resturants.
