Technology

"Technology- anxiety"- I have little to no experience with technology. I struggle to turn on my television at times, I do not understand half of the systems within my own cell-phone, and I grow very impatient with using various programs on my laptop. Hoping to grow more comfort from this course.

Travel

Future travels- in August this year, I am flying to British Columbia for 10 days to explore and hike with my boyfriend. Looking forward to seeing the West.
Travelling with sports- I have been fortunate enough to travel to various plays within my basketball teams, playing schools from across the world. These places include; Italy, Costa Rica, Boston, Washington, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.
Travelling with family- some of my most memorable trips include places like; Jamaica, Haiti, Punta Cana, Memphis and Mexico.

Family

Brother- Jonathan Besselink- graduate from Butler University with a masters in business
Sister- Sarah Besselink- assistant coach at the University of Ottawa women's basketball team
Mom- Joanna Besselink- Vice Principle at Regiopolis Notre Dame High school in Kingston
Dad- Robert Besselink- retired police officer (OPP)

Health

Working out- I am very passionate about working out (lifting weights, running, biking and swimming) Now that I am officially done playing basketball at university, I am finding more passions to help keep fit and healthy.
Diet- I constantly count the amount of carbohydrates that enter my body. Technology has made counting carbs easier; I can measure and weight certain foods to get the necessary numbers I need to deliver the appropriate amount of insulin.
Type-1 Diabetic (diagnosed in 2011). Lots of technology involved in the advancements that have made my life easier. Ten years ago I was pricking my finger and injecting insulin via needle 4-6 times a day. Now, ten years later, I have two wireless systems that both monitor my blood-sugar levels, as well as deliver insulin.
