Elder Bednar in this most recent conference talked to us about building our foundation upon the rock with is christ and not in the sand which is the world.

What is my work as learner and teacher?
to incorporate the plan of happiness into my teaching, to obtain as much knowledge while i am here, to grow and become a good teacher to help others progress as well

I agree with Beecher. teaching is a privilege because we are building their foundations and we can do so as we invite the spirit in our classrooms
What is the role of schools in society?
get the child interested
i had a chance in high school to be in an academy for those who wanted to work with kids. it helped me to see that teaching was something I wanted to do. If i was not in this academy in high school i wouldn't have cared about my schooling and education nearly as much as i did
