Earthquake patterns

What type of plate movement is happening here? And why?
The two plates that are moving is the north american plate and the pacific plate the type of movement that is happening is converging or convergent plates. the pacific plate is smaller so the north American plate is subjecting the pacific plate under it, because of this i think one day in many many years the pacific plate will be completely submerged under the north American plate.
How many earthquakes happen in the last 10 years and what does that mean?
2007 M 5.6 Calaveras fault was the only earthquake in the last 10 years. What i think that means there is a lot of tension in between the plates and they will shift very vigorously and it will be the biggest earthquake in san Francisco to date.
How long are the earthquakes on average?
On average 20 to 60 seconds earthquakes can last in sanfranciscon. Thats strange to me because of how much damage can happen in an short amount of time.

Aftermath

Why do the fires start after or during an earthquake?
Fires, often associated with broken electrical and gas lines, is one of the common side effects of earthquakes. ... To complicate things water lines are broken and so there is no water to extinguish the fire. Thats crazy because most destruction in an earthquake happens when the fires start.
What has been the cost to rebuild after sanfrancisco's biggest earthquake?
The total economic loss for the region, just due to damaged buildings and the contents of the buildings is estimated to be a little over $120 billion. For the great san francisco quake. I find that extremely high that would be the equivalent to 60 people winning a 2 million dollar lottery ticket.
How long does it take to rebuild after an earthquake?
It took a whole 4 years to rebuild from the biggest earthquake in San Francisco the 1906 earthquake leveled at a M7.8 called the great San Francisco earthquake witch was extremely fast the smallest was in 2007 M 5.6 called the Calaveras fault witch took 2 years to rebuild. so my guess would be any time between 2-4 years to rebuild, to me thats pretty fast.

The Impacts of Earthquakes. Some of the common impacts of earthquakes include structural damage to buildings, fires, damage to bridges and highways, initiation of slope failures, liquefaction, and tsunami. When an earthquake happens, the seismic waves produced have a wide range of frequencies. So to the people that lived in a place when an earthquake happen the people would be effected dramatically. Such as if there hose gets demolished and they couldn't pay for it and they could be in debt, or they couldn't pay for anything because they got injured or hurt as well as the place they could have worked could have been wrecked.
