Tablet Computing

Lack of flash player can restrict ability to view online resources. Using flash compatible apps such as puffin can be a good work around for these issues

Decreases speed of word Processing. A solution might be to invest in a few docking stations to use for typing

No Computers!

Social interactions are strong, and there is a large sense of community. must use eachother as resources, because there is a lack of tech to rely on.

Lends itself to hands on project centered learning. Students are exposed to different methods of research like interviewing, note taking, and extracting from print text

Online Learning

Collaboration. Students can digitally edit activities at the same time. They can also access items from any device as long as they have internet.

Promotes self discipline. Can provide students a venue to work at an individual level with the use of adaptive programs

Blended Learning Environment

Good for Classrooms with less than 1 to 1 devices. If structured correctly, teachers can utilize tools such as Gooru to give students self directed activities online.

Can require alot of preplanning to create different Modules for students to work in. Can be compared to center based learning, with the addition of curating and creating digital components

Cloud Computing

Makes it easy to access documents from anywhere for both teachers and students. Also allows both teachers and students to work collaboratively on activities

Great solution to storage issues. Students and Classrooms that can utilize the Cloud can store and share assignments without fear of losing.

BYOD

Danger! These are personal devices, meaning that if they get damaged at school, this could be an issue. To ensure this does not pose a problem, strong communication with parents and administrator is necessary

Great Idea! All students feel most on hteir personal devices. However, they are personal, and that means there are more than likely games, possible texting issues, etc. Strong Digital Citizenship Rules needed to make this environment work.

Interactive White Boards

Screen capture feature can be beneficial. Students can then have access to lessons activities from that day at home if they have computer access. Teacher would be requires to post captured material

Engagement level increases students can benefit from resources like digital manipulatives

One Computer Only

Maximize use of Projection. Students will need to see everything and it is not feasible for a teacher to sit one on one with every child every time they use the computer.
