Resuming the Grades 3 and 6 Education Quality and Accountability Office assessments to help us understand impacts of learning disruptions during the pandemic.
The resumption of the EQAO assessments for Grades 3 and 6 aims to evaluate the impact of pandemic-related learning disruptions. Students are encouraged to maintain school attendance, adapt to technology use, follow teacher instructions, and participate actively in small group learning.

share resources so teachers can be current in diagnostic testing and tracking of student goals in learning
ensure there are school based learning/tutoring opportunities set up for students that are helpful and equitable
use budgeting or request for financial approvals for new resources if needed that are current (science of reading levelled and decodable texts, manipulatives in math, technology for student use
reach out to board for additional supports where needed (Early Reading Teachers, math coaches, language support) to help support students and teachers
prepare online EQAO testing and exemption forms for students as needed. Learn and become familiar with the new online system of learning, and be prepared to support teachers with this
support current teachers in preparing for the EQAO (sharing resources), using technology, setting up etc.
identify gaps in learning based on previous EQAO scores and come up with strategies of learning and coaching across divisions to help bridge those gaps
encourage data collection and entry of previous years and current learning in board observed data entry

expose students to EQAO styled questions throughout the year, and not only during testing periods
use offered budgeting to purchase materials that further student growth
differentiate instruction regularly to progress all students as needed with their next steps
follow science based reading and small group intervention programming to help close gaps in students learning
advocate for students who may benefit from school-based tutoring or tier 3 support to bridge gaps in learning
collect and document frequent assessment in both math and language and pinpoint learning targets and needs of different students
prepare online EQAO testing and exemption forms for students as needed, ask principal to sign-off. Learn and become familiar with the new online system of learning, and be prepared to support teachers with this
