The study explores the impact of nursing coaching leadership on job satisfaction and patient safety. It involves a correlational analysis of responses from 85 nurses and 85 nursing technicians using specific questionnaires to gauge self-perception in leadership practice and the safety and security climate.

Conclusions

Regarding Communication, it should be noted that this dimension was the one that obtained the highest averages among professionals, without significant differences between groups.
Another important aspect of this research was the evaluation of the relationship between the perception of nursing technicians about the leadership exercised by nurses and the perception of the safety climate. It can be noted that the more aspects of the coaching dimensions are exercised and, therefore, perceived by the nursing technicians, the better the safety climate that permeates patient care is also.

Method: Correlational study, carried out with 85 nurses and 85 nursing technicians who used the Nurse's Self-Perception Questionnaire in Leadership Practice, the Nursing Technician and Assistant Perception Questionnaire in Leadership Practice, and the safety and security climate subscales. Satisfaction at work. The relationships between the professionals' responses were evaluated by the Mann Whitney test and the Spearman coefficient.

A total of 170 nursing professionals, 85 nurses, and 85 nursing technicians were invited to participate in the research. Among the participants, some did not fill in the fields related to age and time in the function and in the unit.
The evaluation of the self-perception of the nurses on the exercise of their leadership, the evaluation of the perception of the technicians on the leadership exercised by the nurse, as well as the comparison between these evaluations considering the relationship between nurses and technicians is shown.

Objective: To compare the perception of the nursing technicians with the self-perception of the nurse about the practice of their Leadership coaching and to verify the influence of this leadership model on the safety climate and on the satisfaction of the team.

The perceptions of the nursing team was carried out in a setting, therefore, characterizing the perceptions of a specific population. Furthermore, when considering the exclusion criteria, the total number of participants ended up not reaching the sample size initially calculated.

Dimensions of the coaching process include communication, providing and receiving feedback, empowering and influencing, and supporting the team for joint results. These are aspects that are reflected in the competencies required for the practice of the nurse leader, in the nursing area, the studies of leadership in coaching provide an innovative methodology that proposes a correlational evaluation of the perception of leadership between leaders and followers.
The nurses in the present study were not trained to train in leadership. Considering that this model allows professional development, it is recommended that the subject be addressed since the undergraduate career, since nursing, a dynamic and challenging profession, requires that leaders involve and inspire their followers.
