During the Neolithic Era, human societies transitioned from hunter-gatherer lifestyles to agricultural-based living. This period marked significant changes in food acquisition and consumption.

THE HISTORY OF FOOD AND BEVERAGES Prehistoric man settled down and cultivated crops( squash, corn, beans, barley) He passed from a meat-based diet to a vegetarian one( poor in salt) he domesticated animals for food (his diet included milk and cheese) He became a farmer instead of being only a hunter changing his food habits The change happened in the Neolithic Era (10.000 B.C. the society changed from: to agricultural hunter-gatherer No methods of preservation. People ate what there was in their habitat peolpe who lived inland hunted for :oxen, wild pigs, deers, wolves people who lived near the sea/river ate: fish, sea birds,shellfish Prehistoric man's diet was very simple staple foods: meat,fish,wild plants NO spices, onions,potatoes only wild leaves and berries hunter - gatherer society/ raw food
