Type in the name of the novel and movie you are going to compare and contrast.

Example: Great Expectations.

My Take-away

I realised that there are different ways to handle responsibilities that you may have in your community. Cassie handled her situation by letting her actions speak for herself. She didn't speak much but by hitting the game winning home-run she earned her teammates respect. She also showed people that girls can play in a field dominated and this could apply for all walks of life. On the opposite side of the spectrum Starr faced adversity head-on and stood up for Khalil by using her voice and making sure she was heard by everyone.

Cassie from "The Last Inning"

Restate your thesis while avoiding repetition.

What Factors Helped her be Successful
Her coach kept encouraging her to keep going up to bat throughout the game and wanted her to participate whether they win or lose.
She gained inspiration from her mother when she saw her in the stands with a very big smile. This boosted her confidence because she knew her mother was proud even if she failed to hit the ball.
Was she successful

Restate the differences between the book and the movie.

She was successful in helping her team winning as she hit the game winning home-run but she wasn't very successful as she wasn't able to speak up for herself when people were saying she wasn't fit to play baseball with boys.
She faced a lot of adversity when she arrived to the game as her team didn't want a girl on their team. She lacked confidence which led to her not participating
What was her Role in his Community?

Restate the similarities between the novel and the movie, but try to avoid repetition (this will help if you write an essay afterward).

Although she wasn't connected or well liked with her team

This means that if you use this draft to write a compare and contrast paper, each characteristic will be introduced in a separate paragraph.

Connetion
In the movie Dr. Strange obtains the time stone allowing him to rewind time and uses it to his advantage against the villain and he saves the world that way. Very similar to my story where he fails but then gets to relive the same moments and make things right.
This reminds me of the movie "Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme" by Marvel.
What Factors Helped him be Successful
He couldn't have been successful without the trust his coach bestowed upon him. Even when he was injured the coach allowed him to play the final 30 seconds which led to him making the game winner.
The biggest factor that helped him be successful was when he got a second chance
Was he successful
When he got a second chance he succeeded by hitting the same shot to win the game.

Starr Carter from The Hate U Give

The introduction provides background information for both the book and the movie.

Connection

This line reminds me of the constant reassurance Uncle Carlos gave her when she had to visits the police station to give a statement of the night of Khalil's death. Uncle Carlos wanted her to focus on nobody else but herself, him and giving good information to the police.

This incident made me think of the song "Portraits" by GRIP. One line in particular sticks out to me: "We all fight the same war, it's no them, it's you and me"

What Factors helped her succeed?

Create a thesis statement in which you briefly compare and contrast the book and the movie.

Uncle Carlos helped her overcome this fear as they went to the police station together and he promised Officer One-Fifteen wouldn't be there and offered constant reassurance she'd be safe with him.
